Getting Gains God’s Way
Many believers fall into the trap of checklist faith, treating their relationship with God like a series of boxes to check rather than a genuine connection. The story of the rich young ruler in Matthew 19 illustrates this perfectly - he had followed all the rules but couldn't surrender what truly held his heart. True spiritual growth requires three key elements: choosing relationship over rules, being willing to drop the weights that hold us back, and remembering we weren't meant to live alone. God doesn't want limited access to our lives through scheduled devotions; He wants to do life with us completely. When we surrender what we're clinging to, we make room to grab hold of the greater purpose He has for us.
